I’m finishing up on book #2! It will be much longer than expected, though, still fun! It’s exciting and definitely nerve wreaking to put your words into the atmosphere for others to read and try to understand. It is always with hope that people like it.

(updated as of April 13th, 2023)

In the process of sorting these thoughts and finding where they fit into the story is a mystery into itself.

I read a nice quote today, in a foreign language and it might have been just a description of a typography, but my mind segmented a portion of it to mean something about: the agony of pain is hunger itself.

It’s National Poetry Month!! I stopped writing for the book, and essentially done for now, but still have poems that can be written. So, here’s one that I just made up on the spot:

If words were just chatter.
I will find solace in the heartbeats that matter.
I wonder, where we'd be, when the sounds of the world around us are closed and shutter.
I will be there, happily, full of glee without a need to mutter.
I'm glad that we have each other.

I write about love and essential can give practical advice, but fail to fully understand if it is ever practical enough.

Something that helps is asking these poignant questions to your love:

  • How are you?
  • How’s your day?
  • Do you want to talk now, or later?

If you find that the answer is not now, then, save it for later; when the stresses of the day have simmered a bit and more air is available to answer them. There isn’t a timeline to make everything okay, but it helps to know you have someone to listen when you’re ready to talk.

I GET TO… is a good stance on the day. Make it meaningful as you want it. Been busy and sometimes neglectful of the people that genuinely love me and what’s happening in their world that I forget to tell them how proud I am of them, but they always know, I hope. I’M PROUD OF YOU, my love.

  • song of the moment: Joshua Radin – My My Love

(updated as of April 30, 2023)

It’s going live and some will see these notes for the first time that are not near me. It’s scary and exciting that your words can move people, but make your actions speak, too. Hopefully, it’s full of love.

  • song of the moment: Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat- Lucky

(updated as of May 8, 2023)

I figured out how to set titles. It means nothing to everyone else but it was a big deal. It’s nice to have little wins.

  • song of the moment: Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s Somewhere Over The Rainbow

(updated as of May 21, 2023)

I forgot how to set titles and re-learned it but made more progress in formatting book #2.

  • song of the moment: Bill Withers’s Lovely Day

(updated as of May 28, 2023)

I took a break from formatting and got the chance to help high school students from the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program improve their interview skills and showcase their academic portfolios. They’re really bright students! It was fun!

  • song of the moment: Orla Gartland’s More Like You

(updated as of June 10, 2023)

I’m getting married! It’s perfect that a simple solid band would have made me equally happy. It’s about a successful marriage and not about the ring, to me, at least. I like the round shape a lot. I think this post needs further explanation later.

  • song of the moment: Etta James’s At Last

(updated as of June 14, 2023)

It’s going well. I’m still editing book #2, but I did get to write more poems and entered a few contest that we will see how it goes. The process of writing poetry again was freeing and so unexpected. It’s enjoyable and being in that zone where your heart just speaks.

I wanted to say that the act of giving is personal, but meaningful for the individuals involved that care was considered mixed with intentions. I know the ring is important symbol of love and what that love entails, because nobody steps into anything hoping it’ll go wrong, or know it’ll not go as planned, so live in the moment.

(fun note–Mr. Valli was instrumental in creating a subcategory that transitioned the blues to rock and roll. I only took one music class and I got to go to class and just listen to music and of course there were tests in there, but mainly just relaxing.)

  • song of the moment: Frankie Valli’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off You

(updated as of July 21, 2023)

I’ve formatted close to 200 pages and a little more to go but it has taken a bit longer than I expected. Nonetheless, it will be done, by this year. I’ve been thinking of the next book as I finish this one that I genuinely enjoy writing, or the process of writing more than I once did. I’m growing as writer, hopefully!

I got these cool items from people I care about and it shows they know me and love me. It was very unexpected but a nice surprise. ( pictured: an orchid plant, poetry book, and handmade tea cups from a Japanese artisan)

  • song of the moment: Imagine Dragons’s Next To Me

(updated as of July 28th, 2023)

If you’re asked, if you like Star Wars or Star Trek, what would you say? It’s truly a difficult question and defines where you stand in the science fiction realm. I would say both and to prove it that I was sitting on a replica Bridge, while doing a Vulcan salute but wearing a chewbacca outfit. I didn’t get to go Comic Con but heard it was fun that I was tending to my tomatoes and watching it finally have fruit. Here’s some other cool items I got that I equally adore.

  • song of the moment: Carole King’s One Fine Day

(updated as of Aug 2nd 2023)

I’m making progress towards finishing the second book and I can’t wait for people to read the love.

  • song of the moment: Aisha Badru- The Way Back Home

(updated as of Aug 9, 2023)

I recently got reminded it’s okay to stop and take a breather that most things don’t need your worries.

  • song of the moment: The Civil Wars’s I’ve Got This Friend

(updated as of Aug 18, 2023)

I’m completing the book and will stop these reminders of finishing and just doing it.

  • song of the moment: Nola Kin’s Not What You Think

(update as of Aug 24, 2023)

Nostalgia hits you when you re-read emotions that you wrote and feel like it’s waiting.

  • song of the moment: Janis Joplin’s Turtle Blues

(updated as of September 22, 2023)

Time seems to escape me that I haven’t updated in awhile. We have a release date picked and finishing up on the design of the poetry book cover with minor details but it means a lot. We also made contributions to some climate change organizations and waiting till they get cleared to update the donors list.

  • song of the moment: John Lennon’s Imagine

(update as of October 4, 2023)

I didn’t win the lottery. Though, to be fair, my two tickets would not have made a dent, in the possibilities of winning, all of which, I learned about yesterday, afternoon. So, there was a slight chance but to know that a portion goes to educational funding is a prize into itself. The real scandal would be me giving away winnings to charity; just because that’s what I would do. ( No, I’ve never been involved in any type of scandal, ever. I would still donate to charity, though.)

  • song of the moment: Adele’s To Be Loved

(updated as of October 11, 2023)

It’s heartbreaking seeing the countless lives in turmoil that words can’t express. My heart goes out to you all.

(updated as of November 12, 2023)

One of my poems not written for the upcoming book will be published in an anthology and something cool is that the publishing company is owned by veterans.

  • song of the moment: Midnight Hour by Jamestown Revival

(updated as of December 10, 2023)

There’s a lot happening in the world that can’t be mended but to be able to help is what makes me grateful for that opportunity. To share that we’re all connected.

  • song of the moment: Avett Brothers’s I Go To My Heart

(updated as of February 8th, 2024)

I got the honor of working with some amazing people for the 2024 regional competition for Poetry Out Loud. The winner will be heading to Sacramento for the next round and she’s exceptional! As the accuracy judge, I can say that she didn’t miss a single word in both rounds and also delivered a powerful performance, according to the other judges. All the students did a great job and so glad everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun!

  • song of the moment: Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones’s Instrumental 1

(updated as of March 5th, 2024)

I’m not getting married. I wish it was something more dramatic like refusal to sign the pre nuptial agreement but to be fair that you should consider and express that one is needed; seeing how marriage is a legal binding contract to protect you and your spouse. It was fundamental items that could not be compromised upon and you want something to be loving and full of happiness that’ll last for a lifetime.

I owe everyone a second book and it’ll still be published with a slight delay but arriving in 2024 instead.

  • song of the moment: Taylor Swift’s The One

(updated as of April 28th, 2024)

We changed our business name to “1 Poem” and the business’s core message is still the same of donating to charities and organizations from the e-book sales. I’m editing book #2 again.

And this past, prior weekend, I got to be apart of the Great American Clean-Up by beautifying the city and I even saw the mayor give a speech on how there has been improvements throughout and the stark differences a few years has been with the help of everyone in the community. Well done everyone!

  • song of the moment: Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington- Things Ain’t What They Used to Be

(updated as of October 20, 2024)

I’m really bad at updating, and I do apologize for not being more studious. Book #2 will be released January 27th, 2025. I’m figuring out what would be a good closing dedication and it will be that line; it’s simple and nice.

Thank you for loving me.

  • song of the moment: “I met you when I felt so alone. It’s how you reminded me to fill in those spaces because I’m fully grown. If I ever need someone, you’re a few steps from a phone. I’m here feeling so alone.”

(updated as of January 26th, 2025)

Here’s the cover of the poetry book #2! My niece painted this, I’m so proud of her and had to make it the cover of my poems. It’s cheerful and something needed right now with everything happening in the world. I hope you all have a good day! The new book will be released March 8, 2025 or until further notice. I promise it’ll be released this year. I’ve been busy with family, friends, and other important matters of life.

  • song of the moment: Waves- Wildcardz

(I was going to post another song but I found this and wanted to share. It’s pretty and hopefully it’ll make you smile if you’re having a tough day because I have those days and it’s helpful to know there’s someone out there that knows how you feel on those days. I probably have a music twin out there, however, coincidental it is and how our individual world are similar but not.)

(updated as of May 11, 2025)

Spending time with family. Got my passport in January 2025, super excited about that and my first country I’m going to visit is Japan!!! I’m still saving up for it, but Japan 2026 is happening and will be my first time there!! I will give further updates later and just feeling grateful.

  • song of the moment: Mandolin Orange by The Wolves

(updated as of Dec. 20, 2025)

It’s been awhile since I’ve written. Japan is not happening in 2026, as planned because I want to see more than what I had anticipated, so more time is needed to be spent on the planning process. Also, I couldn’t miss someone’s special day that’s more important than Japan that it will be there and waiting when I arrive in 2027! I sold a book last month and it doesn’t cover a donation but I just donated with my personal funds instead because it was important to me. The book will be released on Feb. 14, 2026 because it’s about love and that day is about love. No, my fiancé isn’t in my life, and it’s been over a year and he’s still him. Very much beige for someone who doesn’t like beige. I like beige. A harsh part of aging is when life ends and my pet died. And this song is for her. She was the best dog you can have, very calm but fierce!
